Olympic Drives manufactures tough workboat azimuth drives, also known as Z-Drives or rudder propellers. These heavy duty drives deliver full propeller thrust throughout an endless 360 degree rotation, offering a vessel positive and powerful control in all directions. The Olympic Drive is ideal for vessels requiring high maneuverability and/or maximum propeller thrust in any direction.
The original Olympic 360 Degree Drive began production in 1969, establishing a market in the northwest forest industry. Since then over 1,250 units have been manufactured, earning the Olympic Drive a reputation for quality and durability.
Specializing in small steerable propulsion units, Olympic Drives produces the 100 HP (75 kW) Hydro Drive UD2, the 140 HP (105 kW) Olympic SD1 and the 200 HP (150 kW) Olympic HD3 Drive. The Olympic azimuth drives are installed on a wide range of vessels including CCG buoy tenders, small car ferries, oil skimmers, water taxis, yachts, tugboats, pushboats, log broncs, winders, dredges, workboats, hybrid vessels and many other applications.
