BOOM BOAT Typical boom boat operating on the west coat in the logging industry. Depending on the vessel length and HP, they are equipped with either one Hydro Azimuth drive or one Olympic azimuth Drive. The drive on these vessels is mounted in the bow of the boat. Steering on these vessels are mechanical with a steering wheel. |

BEAUMONT TIMBER in BRITISH COLUMBIA This tug is equipped with two Olympic HD-3 azimuth drives. The tug is tethered to a 90’ ramp barge used to ferry logging trucks across the Revelstoke dam. This vessel has two independently controlled steering wheels in the wheel house. |

| PADDLE WHEEL VESSEL The paddle wheel vessel Phoebe Ann operates on Shuswap Lake in the Interior of British Columbia. The vessel is propelled by two Olympic Model HD-3 azimuth drives. The vessel is 50’ in length and has two independently controlled steering wheels in the wheel house. Note: in the video, there is a chair on the beach for reference showing how quickly the vessel can do a crash stop in it’s own length from 10knots. |
